Getting Through Security and Passport Control

• Schengen flights: Security only. Typically 10–20 minutes off-peak, up to 30 minutes during busy periods.
• Non-Schengen (international) flights: Security plus passport control, mainly affecting piers E, F and D. Typically 20–30 minutes off-peak, up to 45–60 minutes during KLM’s early-morning long-haul departure bank (06:00–08:00).
• Schiphol’s centralized, single-terminal security setup generally moves faster than airports with per-terminal checkpoints — but the 06:00–08:00 wave is consistently the busiest window of the day.

Parking

Schiphol offers both short-stay parking directly at the terminal (P1-P3) and cheaper long-stay lots (P20, P30) with shuttle transfer. Pre-booking online significantly reduces the cost compared to walk-up rates.
