Changi operates four terminals connected by Skytrain (T1–T3) and shuttle bus (T4), plus Jewel Changi, a separate landside complex attached near Terminal 1 that’s become an attraction in its own right — accessible to visitors even without a flight, though transit passengers would need to clear immigration into Singapore to visit it.

Terminals

• Terminal 1: A mix of international carriers, connected directly to Jewel.
• Terminal 2: Singapore Airlines and SilkAir/Scoot regional flights, alongside other carriers (undergoing periodic renovation in phases).
• Terminal 3: Singapore Airlines’ primary long-haul terminal, with an indoor Butterfly Garden.

Airlines

Singapore Airlines dominates Changi as its home hub, alongside its budget subsidiary Scoot. Changi is also a major stopover point for long-haul flights between Europe/the Middle East and Australia/New Zealand, hosting a wide range of international carriers across all four terminals.

How to Get There

• MRT Train: SGD 2–3 using a stored-value card (EZ-Link, NETS FlashPay, or contactless bank card), about 40 minutes into the city. Note the MRT doesn’t run 24 hours — service runs roughly 5:31am to midnight.
• Taxi: Metered, typically SGD 28–45 to the city center during the day (higher after midnight), about 20–30 minutes. Surcharges apply: an airport pickup surcharge (SGD 6–8 depending on time), a peak-hour surcharge (25%, weekdays 6–9:30am and 6pm–midnight), and a midnight surcharge (50%, midnight–6am).
• Grab: Singapore and Southeast Asia’s dominant ride-hailing app, pricing generally comparable to a metered taxi, about 20–30 minutes.

• Regional (ASEAN) flights: Typically 15–20 minutes off-peak, up to 25–35 minutes during busy periods.
• Long-haul international flights: Typically 20–30 minutes off-peak, up to 35–50 minutes at peak — even at its busiest, Changi is known for moving passengers through efficiently compared to many similarly-sized hubs, part of why it’s so highly rated.
• Automated immigration lanes are available for many passport holders, which helps keep queues moving even during busy periods.

Parking

All terminals have adjacent short- and long-stay car parks, well-signed and generally straightforward given Changi’s overall efficiency. Rates and current promotions are best checked directly with Changi Airport Group.

Best Times to Arrive

• Regional flights: 90 minutes before departure is typically enough.

• If you have time before your flight, build in extra time deliberately to enjoy Jewel or the terminal gardens — it’s one of the few airports genuinely worth arriving early for.

Where to Eat

Changi is known for excellent hawker-style food courts offering authentic Singaporean dishes — laksa, chicken rice, satay — alongside international chains and higher-end restaurants. Food quality and value are consistently praised, a rarity for airport dining.
